Functions applying the same logique to different sections of byte data array objects are distinguished by their name prefix. Context identifiers and their implied application include:
applies to the whole byte array
applies to the byte array back
applies at an indicated position and extending an indicated number of items (bytes)
applies to the byte array front
applies from an indicated position to the end
applies between and including two identified items (bytes)
applies at an indicated position
